Joseph Dana is Monocle's Jerusalem correspondent. Covering everything from political developments in the West Bank to cultural events in Tel Aviv, media in Egypt and urbanism in Turkey, Dana's work spans a diverse number of disciplines and where they collide. Dana's radio work for Monocle 24 from the West Bank was short listed for the 2012 Anna Lindh Foundation Mediterranean Journalism Award.
Dana is a features writer at The National (UAE). Dana was The Nation's special correspondent on the 2011 Gaza Flotilla in Athens. His print work has appeared in Le Monde Diplomatique (German, English), GQ (Germany), Salon, London Review of Books, Tablet, Los Angeles Review of Books, and The Mail & Guardian among other international publications. Dana is Associate Producer of Just Vision’s East Jerusalem short film series Home Front: Portraits from Sheikh Jarrah (Aspen ShortFest Official Selection 2012) as well as Just Vision's documentary My Neighbourhood (Official Selection Tribeca Film Festival, 2012, and Official Selection Al Jazeera International Doc Festival, 2012).
Jerusalem correspondent for Monocle covering regional events with a special focus on architecture, design, politics and media for print and radio. Story topics range from food in Israel/Palestine, architecture in Tel Aviv, green design in the West Bank and elections in Egypt and the media climate in Turkey. Regularly used for live interviews on breaking news in Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Turkey and Egypt. Involved in Monocle Film productions with duties ranging from location scouting, fielding interview candidates and script writing as well as narration.
Features writer for weekend review section providing long-form original reporting and literary book reviews. 2012 pieces included an expose of jailed Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti and a look at the future of Israel-Egypt relations. Also working as a columnist for the daily opinion page, focusing on Israel-Palestine. Occasional news stringer covering hard news developments in the Palestinian Territories.

Founding member of +972 Magazine. +972 is a blog-based web magazine that is jointly owned by a group of journalists, bloggers and photographers whose goal is to provide fresh, original, on-the-ground reporting and analysis of events in Israel and Palestine. Instrumental in the creation and popularisation of the news site. Served as a contributing editor and regular reporter from the site's creation until December 2011. Average of four blog posts a week for over one year.
